QUESTIONABLES

A few years ago there was a popular late night talk show host. He made a fatal career move once and acted in an honorable way welcoming an honorable man to sit and talk with him on his late night talk show. We should remember the incident, although it may officially be filed away as another ratings casualty of "pop culture" television, because on national television a Black man acted as a free man despite the predictable result of his action.

Sometimes things happen to Black people in America that force us to have to question our individual integrity and choose between political correctness and individual or group character. If only O.J. or Rodney King had just had a little more knowledge of self, perhaps one or both of them could have avoided the problems they encountered which, ironically, have also become a part of "pop culture" television history.

That talk show host we mentioned earlier, used to say "hmmm!" whenever he was confronted with a questionable matter.
